Trentino includes Bolzano - Bozen, where the majority of the population speak German as their first language, and Trento (Trient). The fertile valleys of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol produce wine, fruit, dairy products and timber. Wines labeled Trentino or Alto Adige - known for red and rosé wines made from local grapes like Lagrein and Schiava, and red wines from more common red grapes like Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. White wines from this region are made from Pinot Grigio, Pinot Bianco, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay grapes.
